For those who didn’t play Into the Dead, you know that the storyline revolves around a group of high school students who are stalked by a group of ghosts. As you play through the game, you will learn more about each character and the situations they find themselves in. However, the main character, Willard, still eludes responsibility for finding his own cure for the cancer that has spread in his body. As a result, each time he comes across a monster or ghost, Willard must fight it and find its fiercest killer.
Since the first game, players who enjoyed the undead tale, were left wanting more of the same, but at an increased price point. The new Into the Dead 2 raised the bar for the undead tale and offered a much more involving gameplay loop for gamers. With a more intense story, more puzzles to solve and an increased amount of undead to kill, Into the Dead 2 is able to push the point of being more interactive.
Unlike the first game, this sequel has the ability to switch between three unique elements of gameplay. Willard can take on waves of zombies using powerful weapons, such as the chainsaw. There are also several infected areas around the map that are made stronger with dangerous creatures. Willard can use a shotgun to shoot at these zombies as well as defend himself with his bare hands. Each level in this zombie epidemic game also adds a new weapon and allows players to keep moving through the environment as the undead begin to rise again.
If you loved the first game, you will love Into the Dead 2. This zombie tale comes with sixty levels of non stop zombie shooting action. You will easily spend hours trying to blast your way through the undead and avoid their attacks. The levels get progressively harder as you progress through the narrative, meaning that players never know when they might need to find a gun or a knife to take down a specific type of undead creature.
Although it only has sixty levels of zombie action, Into the Dead 2 offers an infinite runner mode. This endless runner mode basically plays through the whole game in one sitting. You will quickly find that this mode is much more fun than the story mode. There are no cut scenes and you do not have to wait for certain events before moving on to the next level. Just like the story mode, you can keep fighting the ever-increasing zombie hordes as you try to shoot them all up.
The point of zombie games is to keep moving. Zombies in Into the Dead 2 do not move, but just look as if they are standing still. The environments become more challenging as you advance through them, but this does not translate into difficult gameplay. You can run into zombies without getting hit and sneak behind them without being seen, but the zombies are never truly a threat because they are easily killed. If you enjoy the original Dead Island, you will definitely love Into the Dead 2 because it is just as exciting, but with new undead twist.
